MiVoice AAC

Terms of Use

These Terms of Use apply to your use of the MiVoice AAC mobile app, web portal, and related services. By using MiVoice AAC, you agree to these terms. If you manage MiVoice AAC for another communicator, you agree to these terms on your own behalf and in your role as an authorized account manager.

Purpose of MiVoice AAC

MiVoice AAC is an augmentative and alternative communication support tool designed to help communicators create and use visual communication boards and speech output. MiVoice AAC is not a substitute for professional medical, therapeutic, educational, or emergency advice, and it is not intended to function as an electronic health record or clinical record system.

Local use and accounts

Core AAC functionality may be used without creating an account. Accounts are optional and are used for features such as cloud backup, cross-device access, account management, and certain paid features.

Adult account managers and minors

MiVoice AAC may be used for communication by people of different ages, including minors. When the communicator is a minor, online account, cloud, and purchase features are intended to be managed by a parent, legal guardian, caregiver, or other authorized adult account manager.

If you manage an account for a minor communicator, you represent that you are authorized to manage the account and the AAC content you choose to store or synchronize. Use the adult account manager's email address for the account rather than the minor communicator's email address.

Account security

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in information secure and for activity that occurs through your account. Contact us promptly if you believe an account has been accessed without authorization.

Cloud backup and synchronization

Cloud backup and cross-device synchronization are optional features available with eligible access or plans. You are responsible for choosing whether to enable automatic cloud backup and automatic cloud downloading. These settings can be changed in the app.

Cloud features are intended to help protect and move AAC configurations, but no backup or synchronization system can be guaranteed to prevent every loss, conflict, or interruption. Keep important information appropriately backed up and review restored content when moving between devices.

Subscriptions and paid features

Paid features may be offered through app-store subscriptions or other approved purchase methods. Subscription billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund handling are governed by the app store or payment provider used for the purchase. Deleting a MiVoice AAC account does not automatically cancel an active store subscription.

User content

You are responsible for the board content, labels, images, and other materials you create, upload, or synchronize. Do not upload content that you do not have permission to use or that violates the rights of others. Avoid placing unnecessary sensitive information in AAC content.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse MiVoice AAC, including by:

• Attempting to access accounts or data that do not belong to you.
• Interfering with the security or operation of the service.
• Uploading unlawful, harmful, or infringing content.
• Using the service in a way that violates applicable laws or the rights of others.

Availability and changes

We work to keep MiVoice AAC available and reliable, but features and services may be updated, changed, interrupted, or unavailable from time to time. We may modify or discontinue features when reasonably necessary for security, reliability, legal compliance, or product development.

Privacy

Our collection and use of information is described in the MiVoice AAC Privacy Policy. Please review that policy before enabling account or cloud features for a minor communicator.

Account deletion

Account managers may request account deletion through the app or the account deletion page. Account deletion may remove cloud-stored AAC content associated with the account and may not be reversible.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as MiVoice AAC changes or as legal or operational requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made. Continued use of MiVoice AAC after an update means you accept the updated terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
